Blue Maximalist Bedroom Scheme | Shop 'Interior Design Masters' Episode 3

Wow! What an incredible episode of Interior Design Masters last week (if you missed it you can read my recap here). The designers each had to deliver a show stopping scheme for a wedding venue in Sussex, to a brief of either 'Refined Elegance' or 'Maximalist'.

Becca (House of Three London) and I have come up with our own take on the episode, incorporating elements from all eight designs, and we have linked all the items below in case you'd like to recreate the look!

Naturally, we went with a blue scheme. It's fair to say 'maximalism' isn't exactly in our comfort zones, so we've eased ourselves in using our favourite colour. If you would like more inspiration for decorating with navy, I have a blog post and Pinterest board you might find useful.

We were inspired by Barbara's wallpaper, but opted for a more muted tropical print, and utilised wallpaper panels, like we saw in Micaela, Paul and Siobhan's rooms.

Micaela's oversized upholstered headboard was gorgeous. Did you know you can order a bespoke headboard from her shop here?

On the window we've layered a sheer and linen curtain, inspired by Charlotte's room. You might notice we've also added a large area rug with exposed floorboards like she did in her bridal suite.

We loved the black four poster bed and wardrobe in Siobhan's room, and we've also included black bedsides too.

This dressing table and stool were inspired by Jonathan's scheme, and the lighting from Lynsey's design (wall pendants and ceiling light).

Peter used a textured anaglypta wallpaper on the lower half of his walls, which he painted in a deep blue, and we've taken the same paint colour right up to the ceiling to give a full cocooning effect.

The grey cushions (light grey and dark grey velvet) on the bed were inspired by Paul's room, and we loved Siobhan's leopard print cushion on the bed as fun extra detail.

Let us know which pieces you love, and if you'd like a bedroom like this either at home or for a hotel stay?

Thanks so much for reading,

Jess & Becca x
