This year more than ever, an escape to the countryside is high on the priority list for many. And I may be biased, but the Cotswolds has got to be one of the top choices, for its beauty, the number of things to do & places to visit, and not to mention how easy it is to get to for a lot of people!
HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Well, my family took on their own little hideaway in 2006, in a lovely village between Stow-On-The-Wold and Moreton-In-Marsh, and it quickly became their bolthole for pure relaxation, catching up with friends and scenic walks in every direction.
Part of the property is an 15th century cart shed, converted into a gorgeous vaulted living room, with the rest of the house built a little later, split across 4 levels full of character & charm.
INTRODUCING #PROJECTHONEYPOT
Prior to Covid-19, we had discussed whether it was the right time to start sharing our little hideaway more widely, and so in 2019 the kitchen was updated with the thought that at some point in the future, it might be available to book for short holiday stays.
Fast forward to March 2020, and plans to give the rest of the house a facelift commenced, along with the intention to let the property out later in the year. Now lovingly referred to as #ProjectHoneypot!
I have documented a lot of this process over on my Instagram, but now that the works have been completed, it’s time to share a little more with you here, on the blog.
So what to expect from my #ProjectHoneypot updates?
I will be:
talking you through how I prepared for the project, from finding inspiration & creating styleboards, to sourcing items, finding good contractors, and managing the project.
sharing before & after photos of each room, with details & links to everything, including the small & mostly local brands I worked with.
letting you know any changes we’ve made, following Covid-19 guidelines to ensure you & your family have a safe & relaxing stay.
and lastly, once it is ready to book, I will be sharing exactly how you could book a stay to enjoy #ProjectHoneypot for yourself!
